Charles’ story

“Whenever I receive blood I can't help but look up at the bag and think about the donors who made it all possible. They saved my life!”

When Charles was just six months old, he was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). To date, Charles has had over 100 blood transfusions and throughout his life, he will need 100s more.

There are many patients like Charles who will need blood for life.

Charles,
blood recipient

What’s in it for me?

If often takes more than one generous donor to help save a life. For instance, it could take up eight donors a week to help a patient battling leukemia.

You have the opportunity to make a lifesaving difference. You could be helping a child being treated for cancer, a mother who experiences difficulties during childbirth, a father undergoing heart surgery and many more.
